Audio and video are working pretty well. The only major missing feature is full-screen support which is covered by work item bug 842130. When we either get that resolved or pushed out to v2, this bug story can be resolved.

Dropping down to 1, I think this turned out to be just css styling.

Verified fixed on April 10th, 2013 built from http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/9db46ddfb517 I can watch and listen to video from websites like soundcloud.com, youtube.com, vimeo.com. Hulu.com displays a message to Download the latest Flash Player and links to the file, this will confuse users as we do not support plugins in Metro mode. I think most users who see this message will end up downloading and installing Flash player only to be presented with the notice to download the latest Flayer each time they http://www.hulu.com

I was able to watch videos on Youtube, but the audio on Soundcloud doesn't seem to work, neither on Win 8 32bit nor on 64bit, with the latest Nightly (build ID: 20130909030204). Tested for iteration #13. Any thoughts/suggestions? Thanks!

Some things to try/answer: - Does Soundcloud use flash for audio? (flash is no supported) - Does it work on desktop Firefox? - Does it work on desktop Firefox if you manually disable the Flash plugin? - If none of that leads you to the answer, does an older Nightly build work?

> - Does Soundcloud use flash for audio? (flash is no supported) I don't know...but I thought it doesn't, since this was tested previously, see comment 5 > - Does it work on desktop Firefox? Yes > - Does it work on desktop Firefox if you manually disable the Flash plugin? If I select "Never Activate" (and restart the browser), it works If I select "Always Activate" (and restart the browser), it works If I select "Ask To Activate", I get a small notification prompting me to enable Flash I think this behavior is a little strange, right?

On desktop Firefox, using a Nightly from 2013-05-24, I get the same behavior
If I select "Never Activate" (and restart the browser), it works
If I select "Always Activate" (and restart the browser), it works
--> Note: "Ask To Activate" option wasn't available back then.

Also, I can play songs on Soundcloud in Metro mode, using the Nightly from 2013-05-24.

Could you try just uninstalling flash and trying it in desktop firefox? Does it work? Sounds like it is probably an issue though since you said it worked in Comment 5.

> Could you try just uninstalling flash and trying it in desktop firefox? Does > it work? With Flash uninstalled and the latest Nightly (build ID: 20130910030254), on a Win 8 32bit machine, I get the following: 1) On desktop Firefox, after hitting the "play" button, it starts playing, but only after ~10-15 seconds 2) On Metro mode, it doesn't work at all >Sounds like it is probably an issue though since you said it worked > in Comment 5. Well, from comment 5 I figured that it used to work back then

I'm unable to watch and listen videos on both YouTube and Soundcloud, in Metro mode, with: 8.1 64-bit and Win 8 in both 32-bit and 64-bit architecture (build ID:20131003030203). After uninstalling flash, the audio from soundcloud is still played in desktop firefox. Any thoughts?

It sounds like a bug based on the previous findings, please post a new issue for metro preview triage.
