User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:24.0) Gecko/20100101 SeaMonkey/2.21 (Beta/Release)
Build ID: 20130916112225
Steps to reproduce:
the \bookmarkbackups folder inside \profile should contain a *.json file named bookmarks-%date%.json for each of the last ~10 days. This used to work fine, but as of 2.21 the .json file is zero length. Using Tools/Backups... from with the Bookmark Manager does still work. Just the automatic creation each day seems to fail.
winxp 32bit / seamonkey 2.21
I'll confirm that there are far too many times when the .json file is incorrectly 0 bytes.
When this started, can't say, but I've seen it for some time now?
(Matter of fact the other day I took a screenshot with the very intent on filing this very bug ;-).)

This should no longer happen after bug 942937.
A shutdown blocker was added here. If the idle backup didn't take care of it SeaMonkey would backup them at shutdown.
This can still happen if SeaMonkey crashes or the user kills it but otherwise I no longer see this.
Please reopen if still a problem.
