From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC; en-US; rv:0.9.3) Gecko/20010802
BuildID: 2001080214
It gets put with a random file name when its downloaded, although it contain's
the suffix (.sit,.bin,etc). My download folder is set in the internet control
panel, so it doesn't ask me where to put the file. I think it may be because it
has to generate a random file name for the temp folder for windows, then moves
and renames it. At least that what IE does, so I think its trying the same thing.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Go to a url to download a file
2.Download it
3. Thats it
Actual Results: The file gets saved in the directory with a randomly generated
file name with the 3 character suffix. in this case, h81gz9r.bin
Expected Results: it to come out as the proper file name.
Fetch_4.0_Installer.bin
It does it for any file I download. Might be related to
(http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58780) bug 58780, but the info
isn't very descriptive, and I don't think its the same bug. I think its more or
a source cleanup request, type of thing. Its annoying to have it save as a
random file, and would be problematic for people that aren't that great at
computers that can't figure out where the file went. Its more then a cosmic
request, but not critical in that it won't run.
Well, now it looks like it does this only for files that are mapped in the file
helpers in the INTERNET control panel. I grabbed a .pdf file (which isn't
mapped), it asked me to manually select a place, and it came out with the
correct name.
