The 1px-border-duplication is intended, it gives the menu labels a more pronounced outline. A 'Menu'-colored shadow should be compatible with the 'GrayText' color of disabled items on the menu bar.

Left part of each screenshot shows the previous look, the right ones are with extra text-shadow on Glass only. Added other themes to show that they are unchanged.
