A natural follow-up to bug 954749 (bio 1317): Opening a conversation by clicking on a twitter contact should display the previous tweets of that user as context messages (i.e. a partial timeline).

Caveat: I'm not sure how this fits with twitter DMs.

I think it'd actually make more sense to open that as a MUC and display other people who have participated in the conversation as well (as a person's timeline is "public" in some sense). This would allow us to use the IM interface for DMs.

You are right, DMs are also consistent with what happens for IRC contacts.
So it turns out the underlying problem this bug is trying to address is better understood as being about a "conversation view" between multiple twitter contacts.
