We have a growing collection of counters in gaia dev tools, and it would be good to have some more information on what they do. Vivien and I were thinking about firing off a notification that describes each counter when you enable them. Though it may be more useful to have inline descriptions. The two important ones are probably: 'Show frames per second' 'Show devtools overlay'
Vivien - do you think this is work we should spec/work on? It may be as simple as writing some descriptions in the settings panel, or more complex by firing off a notification. Should we involve devtools here?

The notification angle might be something to consider. What I was planning to do is, in the Developer menu, changing the "Show devtools overlay" checkbox into a submenu where you can enable/disable metrics (with color and name, e.g. "[purple] Count reflows") and choose which apps to track.

Depends on: developer-hud
Let's consider that the Developer HUD submenu gives enough details about the widgets' color code: https://thefiletree.com/jan/shots/perf/perf-hud.png
