Details

I just downloaded 2001110803 and entered a new bug report into bugzilla. I
noticed that i didn't have the standard bookmark icon in the url bar after
submitting the bug. It just disappeared.

I do have the pref for favicon support turned on so maybe it's related to that
checkin.

If I go into tabbed browsing mode, the icon shows up in the tab. But the urlbar
still doesn't have an icon showing.

painting issue?

Not sure how related this might be... but I have a problem where Mozilla will
load a 24-bit colour favicon, but not a 256 colour one - the 256 colour one just
returns raw data to the browser window if I enter the 'favicon.ico' URL by hand.
Having this same problem here. Converted my icon using the ppmtowinicon tool,
with a Gimp-edited PPM file. I have both the ico file and the ppm file here:

http://www.ResonatorSoft.org/favicon.ppm
http://www.ResonatorSoft.org/favicon.ico

Also, have another set with the same problem here:

http://www.ResonatorSoft.org/tows/favicon.ppm
http://www.ResonatorSoft.org/tows/favicon.ico

It's somewhat random here, but Slashdot's appears every time.
Is it related to the way it's converted/edited? I'm using the Windows version,
and Windows itself will read the icon (including IE), but not Mozilla.

There seems to be dupes of this problem somewhere abound, but I'm going to vote
for this one.
Well, the two ICO URLs both load a bunch of random-looking data into Mozilla
(presumably the raw icon data), using build 2002010203.

But in both cases I see a (rather cool) favicon being displayed by Mozilla. It's
black, with a green occiloscope-like line in a cone shape, starting small at the
left, and taking up the entire height of the icon at the right.
