A feature request: It would be helpful to be able to see page icons used for the
icons for each browser window by the window manager; you could then select and
go directly to the right window.
I opened a number of different browser windows to different sites, all using
different page icons as shown in Mozilla 0.96's url locationbar. And all I see
are stars...
(in this case, gnome tasklist's ability to group related windows under a single
button could get in a way - if grouped, you'd really want to see the Mozilla
star indicating all browser windows. Again in this case, you can optionally
mouseover each panel button to read the TITLE line... and the Mozilla build ID.
A visible icon would be faster.)

Screenshot shows gnome's tasklist manager. The titles can't be seen, but the
window icons can. Showing page icons here would be more helpful and interesting
to look at.

Dup of bug 109037?

Bug 109037 addresses getting an icon into the title bar of a window, this - into
the taskbar, bug 82130 (dependent on this one) wants them everywhere...
Summary: Use of page icons as window manager window icons → Use of page icons as window manager taskbar window icons

I see Mozilla 1.1 features a new icon for windows - not a star, not a teensy
mozilla head, but some corporate white-m-on-blue-triangle with ship's wheel
on orange thing. It's hideous.
The download manager window gets its own icon - said corporate
thingy plus a big down-pointing arrow - so per-window icons are doable.
I look forward to replacement of the hideous blue/orange thing with per-page
icons, and can only speculate that the icon is hideous because page icon support
is coming and and you want to encourage people to use them.

From bug 195748 ("RFE: FavIcon image should be embedded as part of the window
icon image on Unix/Linux"):
> RFE: FavIcon should be embedded as part of the window icon on Unix/Linux, e.g.
> when iconizing the Mozilla window the FavIcon should be displayed as part of
> the windows icon image. If the page has multiple TABs all FavIcon images
> should be placed in a table (but without displaying DUPlicate images).
Basically the same request as this one except that this handles the case of
multiple tabs-per-window, too...
