This bug was spun off from bug 118563, where Roland Mainz asked me to assign this to him. This bug is about the fact that the settings in the Properties dialog for your printer are not saved between sessions unless you press the Print button. If cancelling that dialog means that all changes should be discarded, shouldn't they be discarded for the current session too?
If you go into File | Print, then Properties, make a change, then hit Apply, you'd want the change to be kept, even if you don't print. For consistency, we should save the change for the next session, too.
