I've seen the same when testing a crasher bug. My profiles are in the default location at C:, my bookmark files are located in a directory on E:\. I've got multiple bookmarkfiles using different names. After 1st crash my 4 MB sized bookmark.htm was reduced to its first 8614 bytes. I opened another bookmarks file, named bm_2006_09_06.htm, size 4266 kb. After 2nd crash bookmarks were lost again, a new file bookmark.htm sized 8614 bytes was written and used. bm_2006_09_06.htm wasn't deleted, I just had to switch to it again. Workaround: don't use the default name of bookmark.htm. close Seamonkey, rename that file, start seamonkey, and load the new bookmarks file in one of two ways: Ctrl+B to load Bookmark Manager, File->Open Bookmarks File... or about:config browser.bookmarks.file
