Nooo. Bug you linked was not about pressed state on hover.
so this bug is about the button not working. Because the x button cloes the sidebar. Please try safe mode. http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode

This is the same behavior that is described in bug 404617 comment 0. Click hold, drag mouse out of the close button box and release, button retains pressed appearance.
