Nooo. Bug you linked was not about pressed state on hover.
so this bug is about the button not working. Because the x button cloes the sidebar.
Please try safe mode.

This is the same behavior that is described in bug 404617 comment 0. Click hold, drag mouse out of the close button box and release, button retains pressed appearance.
