proposals for an "advanced proxy support": - make mozilla auto detect, if the proxy uses http 1.0 or 1.1 (see bug ), (no more debug prefs needed, which aren't available through "preferences" in ns6) - support multiple proxy configurations, e.g. one config without proxys (direct connection at home), one with a proxy (at work), another with a different proxy (say, second ISP at home or a temporary configuration if you are on holidays etc.). this would be really cool for laptop users! you should be able to apply to the configurations through the preferences. i imagine a drop-down menu. - do proxy configuration during profile creation

(adding comment to re-tickle interest in this RFE) yes, i have a laptop; yes i have three 3 proxy-configurations i'm interested in (1 no-proxy, 1 manual-proxy, 1 auto-proxy), and i would love to be able to choose this from a button-bar icon or other drop-down menu or sidebar tab or something where i didn't have to bring the prefs up and navigate around in them. yes, i would very much like to have the multiple-proxy configuration support. thank you for your interest.

This bug is a mess. What you want is actually bug 88218. I've created bug 173691 to address profile creation (3rd item). #2 is addressed in bug 43429. I've changed the summary to reflect item 1. This might be a dupe, but I couldn't find it in Networking or Networking HTTP.

-> defaults. Darin, you have already made the proxy version selectable, is there any need to make a HTTP mode where necko auto-detects the HTTP version of the proxy? If not, I'd like to WONTFIX this bug.
