Please see also http://svn.gnome.org/viewcvs/orca/trunk/bugs/bugs.html?view=co#firefox for the prioritized list.
NOTE: the prioritized list may be stale and may not reflect the state of bugs that have been fixed in Mozilla. Note also that we will be adjusting the priorities today.

Hello all,
Could it be possible to rename this bug to target all assistive technologies on GNU/Linux ? We have also screen magnifier for example.
I propose "(a11y-linux) Metabug: Bugs blocking accessibility support on GNU/Linux"
Best regards.

Orca indeed is a primary assistive technology we target to I'd say, so it deserves to have own meta bug. On the other hand besides the screen readers world, there are many other accessibility issue on Linux, and it probably make sense to keep those things separately.
Why do you want to generalize this bug at all at the first place?

Meta bug is a common entry point to find bug affecting specific stuff. Here we talk about a11y.

I think if we respect AT-SPI2/ATK standard it will not be useful only for Orca but also for screen magnification software.
I don't understand what it could be a problem if we have the same goal : the respect of the accessibility standard.
Best regards.

I'd say the assistive technologies support is a more complicated problem than just respecting the accessibility standards :)
Anyway, the meta bugs are about tracking the work. I think the people need to have a tracking bug for Orca. If anyone needs to track Linux a11y progress, then I'd say let's file a new bug for that, and make orca bug blocking it. I'm not sure if we really need to convert this bug to a more generic one. I'd be willing though to hear Joanie thoughts since she's using it.

I agree with Alex Surkov. I am interested in those bugs which immediately impact the product I maintain (i.e. Orca) and would prefer this bug not be turned into something broader/more generic.

Agreed with Joanie and Surkov. This bug will remain the Orca meta bug.
