FYI - bug 871910 already exists for tracking tech evangelism issues in relation to the youtube preinstalled app. We could use this for tracking the client-side (e.g. gecko) changes required.

Do we have a bug for the whitelist-youtube-for-open-fullscreen patch?

Fabrice, could you attach your latest version of the app here?

Fabrice should have the latest copy. Ping him over IRC or email to get a copy.

Here's my latest version. I changed the way we reload the last page when coming back to foreground. It seems better in my tests.

I removed the dependencies on bug 877032 and bug 877049. One didn't seem bad enough to block, the other seemed unrelated to the youtube app itself.

1.01 is out for YouTube due to too many fundamental issues. We're retargeting getting this working for 1.1.

That doesn't match what I've heard from Karen. My understanding is that we'll try to fix as many platform issues we can, and then hope that that is good enough to get us through certification.
Can you clarify where you heard that we're bailing on v1.0.1?

Read farther down the email. It's near the bottom.
OUTCOME: Decision on Path Forward.
At this point in time Mozilla will cease work on the packaged app for YT for v1.0.1 (and all supporting fixes for v1.0.1);
Donovan is working to validate YouTube’s own app against the YT certification criteria so we can assess how soon MOZ can submit a device with their YT app and FOS v1.1 for certification. Ideally this will be June 4 …. But we will need to see the results of Donovan’s work.

We no longer need this bug for tracking, so closing this out.
