Details
The updates view will need an HTML refresh. Hopefully it will come with a more usable interface than what we currently have.
This view has two modes:
- An available updates view with the ability to read release notes and install the update
- A recent updates view that lists extensions that were recently updated

The available updates and recent updates views currently show release notes. This is using an old API on AMO and it might be good to convert them to using the versions API instead. For example https://addons.mozilla.org/api/v3/addons/addon/uMatrix@raymondhill.net/versions/2648903/?lang=en-US list details for that version of the add-on, including release notes.

Looks like implementing the options menu will clean this up a lot. Jorge thinks we should make the update pane a permanent link in the sidebar, and show version notes + recent update log, like Apple does. Let's address when Emanuela is back.

Not blocking phase 1, because the XUL view suffices for now.
Of course, we do need to convert this to HTML before we can completely remove XUL about:addons
, but that's a concern for the second phase.

No specific work to do here, just grouping the updates view related bugs.

A lot of times, I will click check updates, then it comes back and says there are updates. I'll click view updates, but it no longer goes there. You then have to go to each individual extension to see if it has an update and apply it there. There is nothing consistent about this.
