+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of parent Bug #1705276 +++
This meta bug covers the subset of bugs and RFEs related to keyboard UX in the new Address Book:
- Keyboard shortcuts
- Keyboard access issues
- Keyboard-assisted ux-efficiency workflows
Goals:
- ensuring full keyboard access for the new AB
- restoring/enabling high efficiency workflows (enterprise-grade)
Inspired by Henry's idea in Bug 1705276, comment 3, this meta bug will provide a dedicated overview of all things keyboard in the new AB.

I see this seems to depend currently on 13 open bugs! Any ballpark estimate as to when this might get finished?
I'm now using latest TB Beta (102.0B2) and in the release notes it says that there were changes to the addressbook UI. However when I looks using my screen reader, I could not perceive any changes. I am still not able to create a mailinglist, which was the reason I began following this process.
Thanx for all the work on this.

I'm now using TB-102.0B7.
I do now have a "create contact" in my file menu (in all views, not just addressbook view).
When you execute this, you get a form which allows you to create an entry, and add one or more items to it. This seems like a good start. However, the add eMail address is clunky at best, and most notably does not let you choose from existing entries in your addressbook. The only way to add an eMail address is to type it in manually. Seems like an oversight here, or I'm missing something in the UI because I'm using a screen reader.

If the address is already in your address book, why would you add another entry for it?

I am trying to create a mailinglist. The new entry should hold multiple eMail addresses, and not surprisingly, they are most likely going to be ones already in the addressbook. So then why can't I simply select one of these from a list when creating the entry?

Hey Rich, very sorry for the inconvenience wrt creating mailing lists. We've been working hard to fix as many address book problems as possible. Unfortunately, some problems are still there. Notably, using keyboard only, you cannot create a new address book nor a new mailing list yet. Will fix this asap, but maybe in a point release. It's a bit trickier when it involves new strings in the UI as we're past string freeze.
Bug 1751282 - Creating a new address book or mailing list is not keyboard accessible in the new AB
As for editing a mailing list and adding existing addresses, this is possible with keyboard-only.
In Beta 102.0b8, navigate to directory pane and select the mailing there, then context menu > Properties.
In Daily 103.0a1 (2022-06-22), you can also select a mailing list in the list of contacts and edit it from there via pressing tab until reaching the Edit
button in the display pane. Unfortunately, this will only land in a point release shortly after 102.0 release.
Bug 1774096 - Mailing list items in contacts list show up empty in view pane and are not editable (nor exportable)
The good news is that in a number of areas of the app, we've made improvements to accessibility.
